Abstract: Positions of chalkiness grains and the relationship of grain shape and grain weight in the same panicle were analyzed with three different japonica rice varieties which have different degree of chalkiness .The results indicate that positions of chalkiness grains was different in the same panicle. A majority of chalkiness grains of Yufeng which had little chalkiness were distributed in the middle and the below of the panicle and the secondary branch, comparatively chalkiness grains of wuyungeng7 which had the more chalkiness were distributed relatively equalization, and they were not evident with the grain position. The degree of chalkiness was significant negative correlated with grain length in same panicle, but there were different behaviors in grain weight and length with width ratio. The degree of chalkiness was significant negative correlated with grain weight in same panicle of wuyungeng7 and 96-110. The correlation between degree of chalkiness and length with width ratio was positive in 96-110, and the others were not evident.
