Abstract: With the almondβ-glucosidase as the bio-catalyst, aryl alcoholic glucosides were biosynthesized under two non-aquaous phases with or without organic reaction medium. The resulting products were preliminarily purified and identified by LC-MS. As the result, the reaction yields performed without organic media was 4.1-5.6 times higher than that with organic medium (acetonitrile). In vitro antifungal assays were performed in Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) culture medium, benzyl alcohol and phenylethanol exhibited antifungal activities against Colletotrichum Camelliae Massee obviously. Phenylethanol shown stronger antifungal activity with the EC50 of 0.71μL/mL and a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 1.8μL/mL. As for benzyl alcohol, the EC50 and MIC were 0.72μL/mL and 0.5μL/mL respectively. Benzylβ-glucoside also exhibited antifungal activities against Colletotrichum Cam elliae Massee obviously with concentrations from 5 mg /mL to 40 mg /mL in PDA culture medium.
