Selection of Fruit Transformation Techniques and the Screening and Identification of Transformed Plants

Abstract: Plant genetic engineering, as a new strategy for fruit crop breeding, is very important in the genetic improvement of horticultural traits. Fruit transformation is a complicated technique with several main steps including analysis of gene function, construction of high-efficient expression vectors, gene transformation, and screening and identification of the transformed plants, of which each step is of a series of specific techniques. There have been a lot of reports about the construction of re-generation systems of quite a number of fruit crops. Here in this paper, we talk mainly on selection of fruit transformation techniques and the identification of transformed plants, which come out from our research and some related papers. All the information presented can be some important help to fruit crop genetic transformation researchers.
