Abstract: Tobacco leaf is the base for the development of tobacco industry and its sustainable development impacts the overall situation in industry. Technique innovation is a prime mover for realizing sustainable development of economy and society, which promotes the sustainable development of tobacco leaf. From the start points of the concept of technique innovation and the particularity of tobacco leaf itself, the authors elaborate the technique innovation connotation of tobacco leaf, and discuss the sustainable development in agriculture and the relationship between it and technique innovation. On this foundation, aiming at the current status of reform and development in the tobacco industry, combining the three greatest goals of sustainable development in agriculture, and depending on technology innovation, accordingly keeping sustainable development of agricultural resources (i.e. realize market supply, protect ecosystem environment, optimize labor force resource, innovate science and technology in tobacco, increase capital input, speed up reform in system and mechanism) are basic guarantees for sustainable development of tobacco leaf.
