Abstract:

This research (paper) systematically described symptoms after Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) infacted tobacco based on the tobacco field survey in North Carolina in 2006. These symptoms included leaf deformation, vein banding, vein necrosis, necrosis spots, concentric rings, rugosity, and stunting growth. By manually mechanical inoculating tobacco plants, the plants were systematically infected and chlorotic spots, necrotic spots, concentric rings, and rugosity symptoms were induced. Finally, the plants died in 4-5 weeks. After comparing two hosts, it was found that the symptoms from two hosts infected with TSWV were similar, but with exceptions.
