Abstract:

Investigate the influence of mercury on the chlorophyll content and peroxidase activity of radish and cole seedlings. The results showed that the content of chlorophyll a and b of radish and cole seedling had reduced, especially chlorophyll a reduced greatly. The etiolating appeared in these seedlings. The effects of Hg2+ on enzyme activity of peroxides of radish and cole seedlings were quite different. The enzyme activity of peroxides of root system and shoot of radish seeding was significantly increased. While the enzyme activity of peroxides of cole seedling was increased under 0.5×10-3mol/L, and under other concentrations of Hg2+ was decreased. According these comparative experiments, radish was more tolerance to mercury than cole.
