The comprehensive evaluation of fruit appearance quality for the local pepper varieties in Fujian based on the analytic hierarchy process and the grey correlation method

Abstract:

The grey correlation analysis based on the method of AHP was applied to evaluate the fruit appearance quality of the 11 local pepper varieties in Fujian. The comprehensive evaluation system was build up, which consisted of 3 1evels (target, criterion and index)and 6 indexes(weight of single fruit, thickness of flesh, number of locules, fruit color, fruit shape, fruit length, transverse diameter of fruit and length of fruit stalk). The results showed that the fruit appearance quality of Huangpijianjiao, Lupiniujianjiao and Niujiaojiaowang were the best among al1 the varieties tested, and Huangpijianjiao’s value of the grey correlation was the biggest in them. The fruit appearance quality of Zhongniujiao, Niujiaojiao, Niujiaojian, Yong’anhuangjiao and Lupiniujiao were followed the varieties of Huangpijianjiao, Lupiniujianjiao and Niujiaojiaowang. The varieties of Wupingxiaomijiao, Yong’anchaotianjiao and Duanluyangjiaojiao were in the third. It had been approved that the method, the grey correlation analysis based on the method of AHP, was a practical and efficient one to analyze the fruit appearance quality of pepper synthetically.
