Abstract:

Effects of different planting mode on yield and water and fertilizer use efficiencies were studied by field experiment in the marginal oasis regions of northern part of Linze in middle reach of Heihe River Basin. The results showed that: compared with one plant in one hole, the plant height, root depth and root-shoot ratio all decreased for two other planting modes. The results of variance analysis revealed the root-shoot ratio for two plants in one hole had significant difference with one plant in one hole, other growth parameters for two plants in one hole and three plants in one hole had no significant difference with one plant in one hole; the above-ground biomass yield of two plants in one hole were maximum in three planting modes and the fresh weight was 102t?hm-2, and increased by 29.4% compared with one plant in one hole, the results of variance analysis showed the above-ground biomass yield of two plants in one hole had significant difference with that in one plant in one hole, but no significant difference between three plants in one hole and one plant in one hole. The water use efficiency and nitrogen use efficiency were also maximum and the values were 9.3kg?m-3、342.9 kg?kg-1, respectively, they had significant difference with one plant in one hole, but three plants in one hole had no significant difference with one plant in one hole, this shows the high biomass yield and water and fertilizer use efficiencies would be acquired in two plants in one hole in the marginal oasis regions in middle reach of Heihe River Basin.
