Abstract:

To reveal the climatic law of livestock geographical distribution in Xinjiang, utilizing the livestock statistics and climate data, the relationships between geographic distribution of the grass-feeding livestock and climatic condition are studied in terms of the method of relevant analysis, and based on this, using regression method to establish the climatic model of livestock geographical distribution in Xinjiang. The results showed that: (1) Cattle, horses require cool, humid climatic conditions; donkeys, mules, camels, goats and sheep have a strong capacity to adapt to the hot and dry climatic conditions. Camels, goats and mules have a strong capacity to adapt to the strong sunlight conditions, while sheep have the poor adaptability. (2) The relationships between geographic distribution of the grass-feeding livestock and climatic condition are close, and the climatic model can reflect the impact of the climatic condition on livestock geographic distribution.
