Abstract:

Abstract:The related nutrients analyses for the boron deficient papaya plants grown in Yuanjiang County, Yuxi City were conducted based on the sample comparisons. The results showed that not only did classical symptom appear phenotypically and but also the related nutrients changed when papaya plant lacked in boron. Except for no significant differences between the deficient and normal plants for B content in roots and K in fruits and upper leaves, Ca and Mg in fruits and lower stems, the B and K contents in B-deficient plants were lower the normal ones for top and upper leaves, petiole, stem and fruits, even for K in roots, reversely Ca and Mg contents were higher in B-deficient plants than B-normal ones. Ca/B and Mg/B ratios were higher in B-deficient plants than in normal ones, indicating that B-deficient symptom was related to B deficiency in soil and the higher Ca/B and Mg/B ratios.
