Abstract:

Abstract: Artificial fertilization method were conducted to determine the pollen viability in 10 species. The result showed the pollen viability ranged from 9.2% to 79.1%,and the average of the polen viability of wild-type tea plants and cultivar-type tea plants are 34.2% and75.8%, respectively. As to the pollen viabillity, there was significant difference among different species. Fruit setting proportion among eight hybrid combinations of wild-type tea plants and cultivar-type tea plants ranged from 4.4% to 22.5%, showed that cultival-type tea plants with high Pollen viability as fathers were more efficient than wild-type tea plants with low pollen viability.
