Abstract:
This paper reviewed the population growing, farmland decreasing, serious soil degradation and inconsistent structure between breeding and planting, indicates that the food security tendency in Sichuan province was getting worse. Based on the reviewed results, the conclusions were: crop and forage intercropping could control soil erosion, improve soil texture and fertility, increase farmers' income and agricultural output of unit area. Therefore, the crop rotation of forage intercropping with crop was the sustainable crop rotation of hilly area of Sichuan province.
