Current Status of Aquatic Vegetable Germplasm Resources in Jiangsu Province and the Strategies on Conservation and Utilization

Abstract: Current status on conservation and utilization of aquatic vegetable germplasm resources in Jiangsu province was investigated. It showed that the germplasm resources were running off and degenerating gradually for field requisition and irregular seed-selection. Some scientific countermeasures such as formulating regulations、establishing resource gardens and using plant tissue culture techniques for conserving and utilizing these aquatic vegetable germplasm resources were put forward.
