Abstract:

In order to further improve the techniques of scale propagation inLilium , the effects of phenolic compounds onLilium davidii var.unicolor andLilium Oriental hybrid‘Sorbonne’were studied for scales cutting propagation. The results showed that the effect of kind of phenolic compounds on the size of bulblets propagated byLilium davidii var. unicolor as well as the number of roots was higher than concentrations and duration of treatments, in which 4-Hydroxybenzoic acid treatments could enlarge the bulblets. The effects of treatment duration on propagation coefficient and average grade was larger, in which disposed for eight hours was propitious to promote the number of bulblets. It was found that the bulblets both propagated byLilium davidii var.unicolor and‘Sorbonne’were much bigger and heavier when the scales was put in 100 mg/L 4-Hydroxybenzoic acid for eight hours in the further study, which was the best treatment for promote the quality of bulblets. The treatment of 50 mg/L salicylic acid disposed for eight hours could also promote the quality of bulblets.
