Abstract: 【Objective】In this paper, the growth and physiological and biochemical of garlic after continuous cropping were studied to reveal the mechanism for the effects of continuous cropping on the garlic physiology. 【Method】With the soils cropped garlic for 0(control), 5, 10, 15 and 20 years as test materials, a pot experiment was conducted to investigate the influence of garlic continuous cropping on the growth and physiological and biochemical. 【Result】The results showed that: with the increasing of continuous cropping years, the growth and physiological and biochemical indicators of garlic were first increased and then decreased, compared with the control, the short-term (5 to 10 years) on garlic growth and physiological and biochemical indexes were promoted and didn’t occur cropping obstacles; but long-term (15 to 20 years) showed a downward trend, the obstacles of continuous cropping were obvious.
