Effects of Eupolyphaga Frass on Yield and Quality of Wuta-tsai and Romaine Lettuce

Abstract:

An experiment was conducted in field to study the effects of frass of Eupolyphaga on the yield and quality of Wuta-tsai and Romaine Lettuce compared to treatments of no fertilizer and N P K fertilizer. The results showed that the growth and the yield of application of Eupolyphaga frass were singnificantly higher compared to that of no fertilizer. Yield of applied frass of Eupolyphaga increased by 42.6% and 15.4%. The quality of Wuta-tsai and Romaine Lettuce were improved by the application of frass of Eupolyphaga. Nitrate and nitrite content of Wuta-tsai and Romaine Lettuce were reduced by applying frass of Eupolyphaga while the levels of vitamin C content were increased.
