Abstract:

In spring Raphanus sativus L. ,the microsporogenesis and male gametop hyte developments with their relativity to the morphologies of flower buds at different developmental stages were microscopically examined. It was shown that spring Raphanus has six stamens(four strong, two feebleness)in which each anther has four pollen sacs, The mature pollens belong to the three-cell type and have three germination apertures; The pollen sac wall have the dicotyledonous type of development and are composed of four layers, epidermis, endothecium ,middle layer and tapetum. The tapetum belongs to glandular type and has two nuclei, the microspore mother cells perform the simultaneous type of meiosis; In the plants ,the archesporial cells of the stamens begin to differentiate ranging within 0.5~1mm, while the flower buds are 4~6mm long form mature male gametophytes. The buds larged from 3.5 to 4.5mm were usually at uninucleate stage which were adapt for microspore culture.
