Research on the Development Prospects of Urban Agriculture in Beijing

Abstract:

Citizens using small space in urban for agriculture production practices had been an important recreation activity. Urban agriculture had became an important aspect in urban planning in developed countries. In this paper, through the comparative analysis between foreign urban agriculture, pre-urban agriculture and China urban agriculture, studied the development process, mode, technology and risk both at home and abroad; according to the Beijing municipal development of urban agriculture and the layout of metropolitan modern agriculture, analysised the prospects of Beijing urban agriculture,which was considerded that there was a certain market and social demand in the development, and put forward the development priorities, models and measures of urban agriculture in Beijing. This paper holds that:the development of urban agriculture in Beijing should pay attention to improve the function of agricultural landscape,ecology,culture,education, leisure and service,etc.; the main construction mode include educational and display agriculture,public green space agriculture,institution ecological landscape agriculture,building community agriculture,courtyard agriculture,urban farming gardens and exhibition agriculture; suggestions and countermeasures include: standardize and guide the development of urban agriculture through department linkage and discussion; research the development mode and technology of urban agriculture through experimental demonstration; construct the support system of science and technology of urban agriculture through present situation investigation and technology integration;construct the technology and market service system of urban agriculture through investigation and enterprise operation.
