Abstract:

To understand the effects of Paclobutrazol on development and Physiological properties of Sweet Sorghum,different concentration Paclobutrazol was sprayed on leaves in elongation stage of Sweet Sorghum. Results showed that Paclobutrazol treatment significantly increased content of soluble sugars，chlorophyll and soluble protein ,and sucrose synthase activities , stomatal conductance, net photosynthesis rate and transpiration rate were enhanced obviously , but plant height and stem length of Sweet Sorghum were curtailed. As a result，lodging resistance and stem output of Sweet Sorghum were improved. Among all the treatments，the optimum Paclobutrazol concentration for controling growth of Sweet Sorghum was shown to be 0.75g?L-1.
