Abstract:

The objective of this study is to optimize the condition of feather amino acid detection, which is critical for feather degradation in feed industry. The amino acids contents detection of feather was carried out by L-8800 amino acid analyzer in the accordance with GB/T 18246-2000(7.1.1.1). Affected factors including HCl concentration and hydrolysis time were analyzed. The results showed measured value rose when HCl concentration rose or prolonged hydrolysis time properly. The measured value rose by 3.96% at optimum condition. Furthermore, the composition of amino acids was different between feather shaft and pinna. The optimum condition for feather amino acid detection was as followed: hydrolyzed by 4~5 mol/L HCl for 20 h.
