Abstract:

The wheat seeds were treated by different intensities (80-240 W) plasma, under the model drought resistance by using of PEG-6000. The effects of the different intensities of plasma on wheat seedlings were studied. The results showed that effects of different power plasma treatments on seed germination were different. The lateral roots, plant height, root length, dry weight and ratio of root to shoot of five treatments (80-200 W) were higher than the control. But the seed germination was restrained by plasma treatment at 240 W. In the treatment at 160 W on wheat seedlings, the lateral roots, plant height and root length were increased by 14.29%, 16.94% and 9.76%, respectively, as compared with the control. The content of the MOD and membrane lipid peroxidation were significantly decreased, which prevented and decreased the damage of the oxidation on cell membrane. The contents of the SOD, POD and proline were higher than the control under the treatment of the plasma. It indicates that the treatment at 160 W can protect the activities of the enzyme system and retard the damage, and improve the drought resistance of wheat seedlings.
