Abstract:

To better understand the status of soil heavy metal pollution hyperaccumulators between China and USA and to reflect objectively their scientific advances and influences in the field, a bibliometric study on hyperaccumulator brassica-juncea L literature from China and USA indexed by the Web of Science based on Web of Knowledge during 1900-2009 was carried out using regular search methods. The results indicated that there were not too much difference between China and USA on researchers, research institutions and the amount of literature, but from the highly cited papers, the United States had 6 of top 10 papers on brassica-juncea L in the world, and top 3 papers were from USA. There was no paper from China in top 10. The keywords frequency analysis showed that 2 countries had similar research trends. In short, there is a certain gap between China and USA on the Indian mustard research, and Chinese scholars should improve not only the level of research in this field, but also the influence of scientific papers in the world.
