雄性赤拟谷盗性斑的位置和形态结构观察

Location and Morphological Structure Observation of Male Setiferous Sex Patch in the Red Flour Beetles Tribolium castaneum (Herbst)

摘要: 为了解赤拟谷盗性斑的位置和形态结构,利用体视显微镜和扫描电镜对其雄性成虫的性斑进行了观察。结果表明:性二型性斑位于雄性赤拟谷盗第一对足的腿节腹侧面,靠近基节和转节端。性斑形状为椭圆形,性斑里长有刚毛,刚毛基部有凹槽,刚毛光滑而短且高于体表,在整个性斑范围内刚毛外周浓密而中央稀疏。刚毛数量为(56±6.2),性斑面积为(1247.7±133.3) μm2。本研究为赤拟谷盗性斑分泌物的分离、提取和鉴定奠定了基础。

Abstract: To understand the location and Morphological structure of setiferous sex patch, both stereo microscope and scanning electron microscope examinations were made in males of the red flour beetles Tribolium castaneum (Herbst). The results showed that the red flour beetles were sexually dimorphic, with adult males possessing setiferous sex patches located on the femora of their first pair of legs. The smooth, short and fluted setae arose from the exterior surface of the setiferous sex patch whose tips were above the level of the cuticle, and the setae were particularly sparse within the center of the setiferous sex patch but appeared dense in arrangement at its periphery. The surface area of the patch measured (1247.7 ± 133.3) μm2, and each patch contained (56 ± 6.2) setae. This study provided the basis for developing the extraction and identification of male-produced secretions from the prothoraeic femoral setiferous sex patch of T. castaneum.
