Research Advance on Origin and Evolution of Watermelon

摘要: 简述了西瓜起源与演化的研究进展,结合板块学理论、细胞学标记、形态学标记、生化标记、分子标记等方法对西瓜的起源与演化中心进行推测和论证,得出西瓜起源中心为非洲,西瓜的演化中心在亚洲的结论。分析表明分子标记为西瓜起源与演化研究的重要方法,是西瓜不同品种间亲缘关系的最直接反映,另外应综合多方面、多学科知识分析才能获得更准确的结论。阐述西瓜的起源与演化,对于西瓜种质资源的收集与利用,培育高产、优质、抗病新品种具有重要的意义。

Abstract: The paper summarized research progress of the origin and evolution of watermelon, and used the theory of plate, and the methods of cytological markers and morphological markers, biochemical markers and molecular markers to speculate and argue the center of the origins and evolution of watermelon. It was concluded that Africa was the origin center while Asia was the evolution center. The analysis showed that molecular marker was an important approach to study the origin and evolution of watermelon, and could directly reflect the genetic relationship of different varieties of watermelon. The paper pointed out that analysis based on multidisciplinary knowledge could result in more accurate conclusions. Expounding on the origins and evolution of watermelon was of certain significances to watermelon germplasm resources collection and utilization, and to the breeding of high-yield, high-quality and disease-resistant varieties.
