Abstract: This paper summarizes the recent progress in the study on chemical ecology of tritrophic interactions among host-plants, bark beetles and natural enemies. The following aspects are included :(1) the sources and characters of semiochemicals. (2) The role of semiochemicals in host selection behavior of bark beetle. (3) The influences of semiochemicals on host selection behavior of natural enemies. (4) Understanding the tritrophic interactions of host-plants, bark beetles and natural enemies can provide the new ideas for bark beetle control.
