Research on Constructive Land Standard of Rural Settlement in Underdeveloped Area: A Case Study of Shulan County, Jilin Province

Abstract:

In order to improve the probability of land potential exploration and further economical and intensive use of rural settlement, the author discussed the rational constructive land standard of rural settlement in underdeveloped area. The land standard of rural settlement was established through analyzing the feasibility of potential exploration for rural housing land, the data of which were acquired by household survey. This paper could be concluded as: 1) rural housing land could be divided into two land use types, i.e., production land, mainly be composed of planting land, farming land and storage land for agricultural implements, and living land, including land for living room and central room, storage land for grain, etc.; 2) on the basis of ensuring needful production and living land, the rational standard of rural housing land was about 164.46 m2 per farmer in Shulan County; 3) the rational land standard of rural settlement in Shulan should be ranged from 232 m2 to 295 m2. The standard of per-capita 150 m2 commonly used was lack of feasibility in potential exploration in land consolidation of rural settlement. The land standard of rural settlement should be established according to the principle of meeting farmers’ needs of daily production and living.
