Abstract:

Drought can greatly affect plant growth and development. The aim is to understand the capacity and mechanisms of drought resistance of Hevea brasiliensis. Through the pot experiment of Hevea brasiliensis seedlings in the greenhouse, the author studied the effect of natural drought stress and rewateting on osmotic regulation substances and membrane permeability. As a result, with time extension of drought stress, the relative electrical conductivity, free proline content, soluble sugar content and soluble protein content showed a rising trend; After water treatment, both the relative electric conductivity and soluble protein content could return to a control level; Free proline content of soluble sugar content presented a downward trend, but the levels of treatment were higher than that of control. Through synthetic assessment, the changes of the indexes indicated that Hevea brasiliensis had relatively strong drought resistance and restore ability.
