Abstract:

To utilize tomato wild germplasm resource better, we studied main biological characteristics of Solanum habrochaite and hybridization with Solanum lycopersicon. The results showed that seeds of Solanum habrochaite were smaller and hairless,with a strong ability to germinate; leaves were smaller with tightly packed leaflet and chlorophyll content of leaves had a smaller difference than cultivated tomatoes;stem were slim and internodes were longer;The flower were bright colors and had a concave stigma which out of anther.The pollen had strong germination under low temperature. when cultivated tomato were used as the female parent crossing with Solanum habrochaite, the female parent could friutset, whereas no results.
