An Overview on Progress of Land Use and Land Cover Change Dynamics

Abstract

Abstract: In 21st century, land use and cover change has become fringe area and hot issue in the globe change research at international academic circle with the more and more conflict of global population, resources and environment. As the most important component of land use change research, the study of land use change dynamics has been highly concerned all the time till now. Though the researches of land use change dynamics are progressive, there are still a lot of problems needed to be resolved. Based on summarizing the available references, hierarchy change, spatial and temporal scale effect, and uniformity of land use change dynamics, quantification and spatialization of driving forces, and methodologies were expounded and discussed. This paper was initiated to provide the reference for the future research of land use change dynamics.
