Abstract:

Tobacco leaf is the base for development of tobacco industry and its stable development is the basic objective of macro-control in overall industry. As a special agricultural product under monopoly system，the stable development of tobacco leaf production is similar to that of food and other major agricultural products, but they have different emphases. From the viewpoint of tobacco leaf safety indicated by food security, this paper reviewed the current status of stable development in tobacco leaf production in domestic and foreign countries, summarized the characteristics of foreign tobacco leaf production, and proposed different subjects of stable development in tobacco leaf production, especially some questions to be further investigated by tobacco sectors and growers in tobacco leaf-producing areas in China. This review would help to provide a reference for achieving stable development of tobacco leaf production and for continuously meeting the demand of high quality raw materials for advantage brand in cigarette industrial enterprises.
