Discussion on the Urban-Rural Balanced Development Pattern of County Economy in West China

Abstract:

Balanced urban and rural development at county level is an inevitable road for socioeconomic development in western regions. At present, subject to such elements and conditions as resource endowment, human resources, industrial development and institutional environment, there are evident difference of balanced urban and rural development at county level in eastern, central and western China. Since China adopts the strategy of Western Development in 2001, especially in the period of 11th Five-Year Plan, positive effectiveness has been achieved in balanced urban and rural development at county level in western regions. In a lot of cities and counties of Western China, a mode of balanced urban and rural development at county level with differentiated characteristics has taken shape when they take actions that suit local circumstances to speed up the balanced urban and rural development at county level based on local actual situation. In this paper, the study on the mode of balanced urban and rural development at county level in western regions means summarization and clean-up of achievements, experience and practice in the balanced urban and rural development at county level in western provinces to compare the path or mode of balanced urban and rural development at county level in different areas and counties and discuss the ideas and countermeasures regarding balanced urban and rural development and economic transformation in western regions.
