Study on the Climate Patterns of Tobacco Quality Base on Climatic Difference in Hunan

Abstract: In order to grasp the spatial distribution of tobacco-quality types in Hunan, based on the 6 climatic factors affecting tobacco quality, the tobacco planting area in Hunan was divided into several climatic types of tobacco quality by using of principal component analysis method and clustering analysis method. At the same time, the climatic difference and characteristics of several tobacco- quality climatic types were discussed and the tobacco-quality climatic types of Hunan were divided. The results showed that the tobacco-quality climatic types of Hunan were divided into 3 types. ClassⅠclimatic region was located in western Hunan and its climate was characterized by rich heat resources of field period, abundant mature sunshine, large temperature difference between day and night, less precipitations of mature late. ClassⅡclimatic region was mainly located in central Hunan and its climate was characterized by suitable heat resources of field period, more sunshine of mature stage, high temperature difference between day and night, high temperature damage probability higher. ClassⅢclimatic region was mainly located in south of southern Hunan and northeastern Hunan and its climate was characterized by suitable heat resources of field period, less sunshine of mature stage, high temperature difference between day and night, high temperature damage probability lower.
