Abstract: This paper started with the two land property rights reforms on forests, forest trees and forest lands in Anhui Province after the China’s reform and opening up. Subsequently from the perspective of famers’ interests, the paper reviewed the background, achievements and the existing problems of the forest rights reforms, and then drew consideration and summary on some of its characteristics and regular pattern, hoping that it may give useful lessons to the ongoing forest rights reform. The author held that the root of successful forest rights reform lay in satisfying the famers’ fundamental interests, and ensuring rights and interests was the starting and staying point of deepening the forest rights reform in rural area.
