Abstract: To provide theoretical basis for seed coating agent research and patent, we analyzed the present situation of seed coating agent at home and abroad. Employing the European Patent Office and China's intellectual property rights and the Chinese and foreign patent data as the database. The total number about seed coating agent patent in worldwide was 371, among which, 151 were in China and 10 were in Xinjiang. There is slightly wide gap in seed coating agent patent between Xinjiang and other areas in our country or other countries. However, it’s important to address issues relating to seed coating agent research for its sustainable development in our region by strengthening the financial aid and patent consciousness.
