Abstract: In order to recognize the affects of transportation stress on animal health, we analysed goat blood biochemical indexes which may related to stress. Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA) was used to discuss the goat blood sample collected before- and after-transportation.The results showed that: the cortisol, super oxide dismutase, reduced glutathione, ceruloplasmin, haptoglobin, thyroxine and creatine kinase of goat blood increased, whereas immunoglobulin G decreased after transportation. But there were significant differences (P<0.05) in reduced glutathione, ceruloplasmin and immunoglobulin G and there was very significantly (P<0.01) in haptoglobin after transportation. While cortisol, super oxide dismutase, thyroxine and creatine kinase increased no significantly (P>0.05) after transportation. The increase of haptoglobin, reduced glutathione and ceruloplasmin benefited to improve the anti-stress ability of animals in transportation. The decrease of immunoglobulin G could be result in the decrease of anti-disease ability and it was the main reason caused disease after transportation. The mechanism of immunoglobulin G decreased after transportation need further study.
