Abstract: Sitophilus zeamais Motschulsky belongs to Coleoptera, Curculionidae, it is the important early storage pests, which is ranked the number one destructive pests in stored grain. It is more and more harmful to stored grain recently, so the research to this pest had got more and more notice. This paper gave a review on the research advance in S. zeamais Motschulsky about the influence of temperature, moisture, nutrition on the S. zeamais Motschulsky and the present situation of preventions-treatments measures. The strategies and research direction to continuously control S. zeamais Motschulsky were pointed out as follows: to study the fluctuation rules of population, to carry out the model form of population harm, to pay attention to the pollution-free prevention and control technology. The purpose to research the bionomics and prevention of maize weevil was to provide technological backup for controlling the pest population system.
