Abstract: In order to screen the host plants which had induced effects on Loxostege sticticalis L., the Y-tape olfactometer, feeding and oviposition choice method were used to measure the behavior responses on 5 host plants. The results showed that: the tendency of female adults and larvae of L. sticticalis to 5 species of host plants were performed in laboratory, the larvae preferred to feed on lambsquarter leaves. The number of female adults laying-eggs on lambsquarter ranked No. one, followed by soybean, alfalfa, sunflower leaves and sugarbeet. Compared with contrast, the crude extractings from lambsquarter, soybean, alfalfa and sunflower leaves had significantly temptation to female adults. Pairwise comparison showed that the orientating preference to crude extractings from lambsquarter was significant than the rest of the four. Lambsquarter and the crude extract had obvious effect on the moth of L. sticticalis.
