Abstract: The effects of nitro-compound fertilizer with different ratio of nitrate nitrogen on the seedlings growth and photosynthetic property of maize were investigated by pot experiment. The effects of fertilizer were assessed based on the agronomic traits, photosynthetic pigment content and photosynthetic characteristics of maize. The results showed that with the increased ratio of nitrate nitrogen, plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, leaf photosynthetic pigment content, photosynthetic rate, shoot and root dry matter increased in different degrees. When nitro-compound fertilizer with 4% of nitrate nitrogen was applied, the plant agronomic traits, photosynthetic pigment content, photosynthetic rate and dry matter were significantly higher than the nitrate content of 2% of the nitro-compound fertilizer, and compared with nitrate nitrogen content of 6% showed no significant differences. In a word, the nitro-compound fertilizer with the nitrate content of 4% can better meet maize growth.
