Abstract: In order to understand the mechanism of zooplankton ecological regulation for eutrophication and improve the natural water environment, the author studied the grazing capacity and water purification ability of Daphnia magna to Chlorella pyrenoidosa under a settled light condition in 16℃ and 22℃. The results showed that: under the same temperature, with the increase of the density of Chlorella pyrenoidosa, feeding rate of Daphnia magna was gradually increasing, but the water filtration rate decreased. For the same algae density, Daphnia magna filtrating rate and feeding rate under 22℃ were significantly higher than that under 16℃. In all treatments, with time elapsing, water purification effect of Daphnia magna was more evident. The same inoculum density of Chlorella pyrenoidosa, water purification effect was better in 22℃than that in 16℃.
