Abstract: To established the mainly morphological characteristics for monitoring and evaluation of drought for winter wheat, this paper studied the main morphological traits of stem, leaf, ear, particle, plant height, leaf area during drought period in Huaibei plain by the qualitatively and quantitatively statistical analysis, based on the observation data of drought disaster during winter wheat growth period from 1980 to 2013 and drought stress experiment. In addition, this paper divided the winter wheat growth period into six growth stages, respectively sowing-trileaf stage, seeding stage, wintering stage, greenup-jointing stage, jointing-heading stage, heading to milking maturity stage and established the mainly morphology characteristics and grade standard of winter wheat corresponding to different growth stages and different disaster grade (mild, moderate, severe, special, severe). The grade standard can be used to be reference for defining the drought disaster grade in field investigation.
