Abstract: In order to research the contents of cyanogenic glucosides in collected cassava, nodal cuttings were grown in the experimental field with regular management. The second leaves from the top were collected before the harvest season and their contents of cyanogenic glucoside by HPLC method were measured. The result indicated that the contents of cyanogenic glucosides in most varieties were lower than that foreign varieties. The lowest cyanogenic glucoside cultivar,‘Q10’, contains 11.3μmol/g fresh weight, which is only about a quarter of the highest content of‘Ecu81’cultivar. This study provided an insight for cassava breeding with low cyanogenic glucoside content in leaves and tubers.
