Abstract: In order to study the effect of temperature and precipitation on maize growth and yield, and provide reference for ensuring maize growth under different climate conditions, this paper analyzed the growth and yield in different climatic conditions of Liaoning and its response to air temperature, precipitation and heat based on field experiments and climate data. The results showed that maize growing days were influenced by the average temperature from seven leaf to jointing stage, influenced by the precipitation from three leaf to seven leaf stage, and influenced by the accumulated temperature from sowing to three leaf and milk to mature stage. The correlation between precipitation and maize shoot dry mass was significant from sowing to three leaf stage, the correlation between leaf area index and average temperature was significant from three-leaf to sevenleaf stage. The accumulated temperature was the most significant factor of maize biomass. In the same increasing accumulated temperature, the maize biomass increased most in Eastern Liaoning and least in Western Liaoning. Influenced of sowing time and climatic conditions on the maize growth in different periods was different, and the fruit characters and yield differs significantly in different regions.
