Abstract: To investigate porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) epidemic situation from 2012 to 2013 in Fujian province, the authors tested 257 diarrhea samples from 125 farms by RT-PCR assay and analyzed PEDV infection in swine herd. The result showed that the positive rate of PEDV was 63.04% (162/257); swine of different ages were all susceptible to PEDV infection, especially piglets, which had 100% mortality rate. The result indicates that PEDV infection is still serious in Fujian province, prevention and control should be strengthened to reduce the economic lost.
