The Influence of Facility Cultivation on the Expression of related Characteristics in DUS Testing and Yield of Zea mays L.

Abstract: This study explored the effects of greenhouse facility cultivation on the expression of characteristics in distinctness, uniformity, stability and related characteristics in yield of Zea mays L. and the field cultivation was used as control. Two varieties of corn (‘xianghuanuo No.6’and‘xinhuazhen 303’) were applied as materials. The results showed that there were no significant differences on expression of qualitative characteristics, pseudo-qualitative characteristics and visual quantitative characteristics of the two materials, but there were obvious differences on most of the expression of measurement quantitative characteristics under the greenhouse facility cultivation. In addition, the spike kernel weight of waxy maize reduced by 14.9%, its hundred grain weight increased by 13.6%, but both the spike kernel weight and hundred grain weight of sweet corn reduced under the greenhouse facility cultivation.
