Factors Influencing the Non-Scenic-Spot Travel Market in Kunming Based on Factor Analysis

Abstract: As a burgeoning travel mode, non-scenic spots travel has been getting more and more scholars’attention, and this study chose Kunming City as the study area to research the influencing factors of non-scenic spots market. During the research, we used factor analysis method to analyze the data of questionnaire and extracted three main factors from a number of variables. The first principal factor was respondent’s gender, age, profession and income. The second principal factor was tourism purpose, attempt reason and attempt willingness. The last principal factor was travel mode, annually travel times and with or without similar travel experience. The results showed that the first principal factor and the third principal factor had the greatest influence on the respondents when choosing the non-scenic spots as their destination. Simultaneously, the study provided a reference for the further development of Kunming’s non-scenic spots tourism.
