Abstract: The field research was conducted to study the optimum density for large- scale mechanized operations, and to obtain high yield cultivation techniques of red-seed watermelon in field production. The experiments used a factorial arrangement of different density 3700, 5550, 7400 per 667 m2 with expansion of row. The yield and quality was highest with density of 5550 per 667 m2, its yield reached 147.8 kg/667 m2, and was significantly different from other treatments. Therefore, the optimum density for red-seed watermelon was 5550 per 667 m2 in Changji area, and its growth, the main economic character, yield, dry matter accumulation was the best.
