Abstract: Based on the differentially expressed genes in ear development of Yuetian 13 cultivar under heat stress, 58 genes sequences from the database of maize genome, http://maizesequence.org/, were used to develop SSR markers for sweet corn by bioinformatics method. The results indicated that 252 SSRs in 53 of 58 genes sequences were detected using SSR Hunter software, accounting for 4.8%. 251 SSR primers were successfully designed by premier 5.0 software. In further research, 12 of 100 SSR primers showed clear polymorphisms and good stability among 3 sweet corn materials, accounted for 12.0% of all primers detected and could be applied to stress resistance research in sweet corn.
