Abstract: To provide reliable information for users needs to evaluate network information credibility, a comprehensive evaluation method of website's credibility is an important part of foundation and a major method of network information credibility evaluation. This paper aimed at exploring evaluation methods of the website's credibility of comprehensive type and professional type in agriculture. This paper presented a web credibility evaluation index system and all indexes were integrated in fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. With some rape information websites being the experimental objects, a collection and analysis of experimental data was made. Methods to evaluate the website's credibility were obtained through calculation and sorting of the credibilities of 43 agricultural comprehensive and professional websites including rape information. In experiment Ⅰ, 4 indicators were selected, such as “PR value of website”, “reverse link number”, “Alexa ranking” and “page index number”. In experiment Ⅱ, 5 indicators were selected, such as “PR value of website”, “reverse link number”, “Alexa ranking”, “page index number” and “professional relation”. Respectively, a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation was made. The experimental results showed that when the website credibility was ordered by website comprehensive strength, the better ones were “www.aweb.com.cn”, “www.agri.gov.cn”, “www.ymt360.com”, “www.moa.gov.cn” and www.caas.net.cn”. The national website credibility was generally higher than the local website’s. The website credibility was related to the local informational and agricultural level. There was a gap between a professional website and a comprehensive website. When the website credibility was ordered by website comprehensive strength and professional needs, better ones were listed as the following: “www.aweb.com.cn”, “www.agri.gov.cn”, “www.moa.gov.cn”. The indexes in experiment Ⅰ proved to be most suitable for measuring the comprehensive website credibility, and those in experiment Ⅱ measuring the professional website credibility. Web credibility evaluation model proposed in this paper could provide reference for all others of this type with indexes and their percentages determined respectively in different actual situations.
