Correlation and Path Analysis of Yield Components of Hybrid Rice Combinations ‘Xieyou 385’

Abstract: In order to ascertain the ways for achieving high yield and investigate the yield potential of a new hybrid rice variety Rice ‘Xieyou 385’, the whole growth period, plant height, effective spike, spike length and spike grain number, grain numbers per spike, setting rate, and yield traits were analyzed by using the data of regional tests and production tests of rice in Guizhou. The correlation analysis results showed that the largest factor correlated with yield is the solid grain number, r= 0.53 reached the significant level; the real correlation coefficient of the spike grain number and grain number was r= 0.77, reaching extremely significant level. The path analysis results showed that the effective ear and grain number had greater direct effect on the production. In conclusion, in order to improve the rate of ear grain number and achieve high yield, we need to postpone the application of nitrogen properly, to increase grain fertilizer at three-leaf stage and pay attention to sludge management at filling stage.
