Abstract: In order to study the behavior of Quercus nuttallii during the autumn in city green land, the variation process of its autumn-color leaf was recorded, and the contents of chlorophyll, carotenoid and anthocyanin were measured. The main factors of climate and environment which affected the autumn-color leaf were analyzed. It showed that the whole leaf color turning phase was 30 days. The main pigments caused the variation of autumn-color leaf were chlorophyll a and anthocyanin. The average temperature had great effect on autumn-color leaf, and had a significantly positive correlation with chlorophyll a, but a significantly negative correlation with anthocyanin. The simple linear regression model between the average temperature and anthocyanin was X2=39.184077/[1 EXP(-7.317131 0.734963X1)], the correlation coefficient was 0.9523(P<0.001). Therefore, the changes of autumn-color leaf can be inferred by the change of average temperature.
